 Vienna Cafe quietly serves some of the most unusual Polish dishes, along with top coffee and delicious cakes, in a cute little spot of the West End. Huge windows look onto the lovely open area that plays host to the Farmers Market every month. Inside, creaking wooden chairs can seat about 20 guests at most, making for an intimate little place. Staff are laid back and friendly, clearly proud of their cafe. If you're in the mood for a snack, the cakes come with a squish of fresh cream, and maybe some fresh fruit too. Salads drizzled with balsamic vinegar are very well prepared. And the Polish dumplings stuffed with mushroom and cream cheese simply melt in the mouth. Make sure you have a taste of their very own ginger beer - clear and subtle, and without the strong zing of some brands. Cafes looking after locals with as much care, attention and smiling service like this often prove tough to track down. The West End is lucky to have this quirky, charming cafe.
