 The 78 nestles just off bustling Argyle Street, and is a favourite for laid back types. And those who enjoy really good food. This isn't just vegetarian, mind you. This is vegan nosh at its most varied and interesting. Named after old vinyl records (remember them?), the cafe bar is cosy with lots of mis-matched wooden tables and chairs, large windows and a real fire with armchairs at one end. The food here never ceases to surprise and delight. Who would have thought that a meat-free haggis could taste so good? With food this tasty, and in such generous portions, who needs meat? The choices of home made soups and hearty dairy-free puddings show what wild and wonderful imaginations the kitchen staff have! This is a cool place, for relaxed people. It is also a hidden local treasure well worth tracing down.
