Rogano is the type of restaurant Glasgow does REALLY well. Around for more than a generation now - really - its ace reputation is well earned, and well deserved. Its the sort of place for a celebration, like an anniversary, big birthday or a romantic dinner for two. The last time I was there with friends, and we were just tucking into our gorgeous langoustines, when a bottle of champagne arrived. Justin then casually announced that he and Annie weren't just engaged, but already married! They'd eloped, had a cracking good skiing holiday in Colorado, and were blissfully happy. Awww! Annie then stopped hiding her hand under the table and proudly showed off her sparkler! Anyway, back to planet Earth, and Rogano... Seafood is their specialty, and dishes like lobster, crab and scallops always come extremely well prepared, from excellent wait staff. I have nothing but praise to shower on Rogano. The first time I went to Rogano, was for dinner after my big sister got her degree. The whole family was there, and we had a memorable evening. And I got to taste lobster for the first time! Many years later, I'm a bit of a regular. Maybe even Rogano's number 1 fan. A drink at the stylish bar, followed by excellent seafood is my idea of heaven - right in the centre of Glasgow! Cheers.
