C C A  Centre for Contemporary Arts (or CCA to locals) offers something special - and you'd never guess from walking past on Sauchiehall Street. With several spaces for exhibits, there's always something new to see, and it's sure to be new, and to make you think. Then the CCA cinema awaits. Just as well there's a fabulous cafe-bar in the centre of this amazing space. Topped with a glass roof, visitors sit between two old restored buildings. Food ranges from home made soups, or a bowl of creamy, fishy cullen skink, along with sandwiches stuffed with your choice of chorizo sausage, smoked salmon and cream cheese, BLT, among several tempting offers. Spaghetti zings with chilli and tiger prawns, and sweet potato risotto soothes with caramelised onions and parmesan. Salads galore are all just as tempting! As is the bar, serving booze and soft drinks with a smile and laid back charm by charming black-attired staff. Children's and pre-theatre menus are available, as are seats outside on the terrace on Scott Street, right under the towering Glasgow School of Art. This lovely and unusual place attracts a relaxed crowd, and its easy to see why...;-)
