Barrowlands  Barrowlands Ballroom (to use its full title!) sits just to the east of Glasgow city centre.
First opened as a ballroom in the years between the wars, it reopened in its current guise in 1960, after a fire. Room for 1,900 standing guests means that this rock venue really does rock! Now one of the highest profile venues in Glasgow, some of the concerts held here reach almost legend status... For example, local heroes Simple Minds have been regular acts over the years, selling out in no time. Other notable acts include Arctic Monkeys, Groove Armada, REM, The Rolling Stones, Erasure and The Pretenders. An eclectic bunch, to say the least! Its unique atmosphere and deeply sprung floor puts all energy into the music. True fans love this place, and it has quite rightly earned a place in locals hearts. Rock on!
