Arches Theatre  Arches Theatre opened in 1991, with the deliberate policy of not defining itself too strictly. As a result, Glasgow now has a winning venue that is a funky, workable mixture of club, theatre, exhibition space and cafe bar. Expect smaller ventures to be rubbing shoulders with much larger ones. Also expect the flexible area under the six impressive, massive arches to be different each time you visit. Locals know a good thing when they see (and taste) it.
